We opened our fourth centre, IntoUniversity Bow, in late 2008, in response to the high levels of deprivation in the area. Students enjoy coming along to the Academic Support sessions, and getting involved in the FOCUS and Mentoring programmes at the centre.
Last academic year the team welcomed 133 primary and secondary students for Academic Support, and saw over 1000 students on the FOCUS programme. 34 students were paired with mentors and 75 took part in Buddy Days.
Centre Update
IU Bow ran a Medicine Holiday FOCUS week in the February half-term with Year 9 -11 students. Students visited The Wellcome Trust and took part in radiology and paramedic workshops. They also had the opportunity to meet students studying healthcase-related courses at university, as well as practicing professional. IU Bow took 33 Year 12 students from Cambridge Heath Sixth Form to Imperial College for an A Day of University Life workshop. Students took part in a scavener hunt around the campus as well as workshops on university life, finances and the application process.
