IntoUniversity Hackney South recently celebrated its second birthday. The centre is now firmly established within the local community and provides academic and pastoral care to around 150 students a week. IntoUniversity Hackney South works in partnership with 13 schools in the surrounding area.
Last year the team at IU Hackney South registered 151 students for Academic Support, ran FOCUS events with 980 children and young people and matched 19 mentoring pairs.
Centre Update
IU Hackney South ran a particularly rewarding final FOCUS week of the academic year. The week included a trip to the Natural History Museu and a David Attenborough Workshop, and excellent behaviour was shown by the students throughout. The centre also enjoyed seeing lots of excited Year 10 students in Academic Support who had achieved very good GCSE results.
