Our partnership with The University of Nottingham began last year, enabling the opening of our first centre in Nottingham in February 2012, marking our first step as a national educational charity.
Since its launch in Autumn 2011, IntoUniversity Nottingham West has supported over 175 students across the breadth of its programmes. The centre officially opened in February 2012 and is now running Academic Support and Primary and Secondary FOCUS programmes. Delivery of the Mentoring programme will begin shortly, and by the summer term the centre will be delivering all strands of the FOCUS programme.
Centre Update
IU Nottingham West delivered Two Days of University Life workshops with St Albans Academy, Birmingham. The young people were given tours of catered halls and the campus by students volunteers and enjoyed a real student dining experience. Other highlights have been a Year 6 Solids, Liquids and Gases FOCUS Mini-Week with Melbury Primary School. This included a visit to the Think Tank in Birmingham where the students made slime, and a workshop delivered by Dr Sam Tang of the School of Chemistry.
