Children in canoes
This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I would like to do it again!

How to help

Volunteering

There are many other ways you can help us. We currently have around 70 volunteers, but we always need more.

1) Academic Support

We currently have centres in North Kensington and Lambeth, Brent and Bow. At each centre we run after school academic support most afternoons (from approx 3.30-6pm), for this to work we need volunteers to come and help the young people with their homework. This is a fairly flexible commitment, as you can help out one evening a week or more.

2) Mentoring

If you are currently an undergraduate at the University of London then another option is becoming a mentor for one of our students. This would involve being paired with a student and meeting with them on regular occasions to help with homework, attend outings and to generally support them in their educational aspirations.

There are training programmes in place for these commitments

Furthermore, there are a number of other ways in which you can get involved, perhaps by joining us on one of our FOCUS weeks, or providing administrative support.
